Zuku is AMAZING!
Zuku is a homegrown East African brand. It was established with the aim of making quality home entertainment and communication services accessible to a rapidly growing, choice conscious East African middle class.
How it works
The Zuku brand currently offers its digital services on two platforms:
1. Zuku Triple play
A cable network currently available only in Nairobi. This platform supports broadband, pay-tv and telephony services through a single cable into customers’ homes. Residential speeds are currently up to 8 Mbps and will be rising to 20 Mbps per subscriber in the near future. The inclusion of high quality voice services with free unlimited local on-net phone calls is another first on the continent. The Zuku Triple Play product will be extended to the other major cities in East Africa soon..
2. Zuku satellite TV
A satellite-based platform, which gives Zuku’s pay-tv service nationwide availability across the region. Satellite TV services are currently in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. “Since the satellite launch, we have become the fastest growing operator in the region. We will be rolling out to Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi and Zambia in the coming months.” Says Mohamed Jeneby, MD Wananchi Satellite Ltd
What’s on TV?
Zuku TV has over 70 channels on the Zuku Satellite platform and more than 120 channels on the top-end Triple Play platform.
